6th Lecture: PeNgUrUsAn MaKmAl & ScHOoLnEt
What I Learned?
The topic for this week is computer lab management & SchoolNet (pengurusan makmal computer & SchoolNet) .According to the survey by Ms. Chin penggunaan makmal computer di sekolah-sekolah is very limited because of the time. Therefore the school management should manage the schedule or timetable properly, so that it easy to teachers and students to use the computer lab. Besides, there are so many ways to promote or encourage teachers and students to use computer lab such as campaign, competition among teachers and students, games, workshop, open day and so on.
The important things that we should watch in the computer lab are the safety of the main equipment; computer and the safety of user. First of all before use the computer we must make sure the computer in the good conditions, use the stabilizer to control the temperature, make sure we shutdown all the system units before connect with the cables (mouse/keyboard) or RAM card, and let the system unit cool down before repairing or upgrading the computer. While user also should beware with their safety
In order to have the comfortable situation in the lab.

SchoolNet is in line with the Government’s efforts to develop an information-based society. The objective is to boost the effectiveness of the local education system. SchoolNet provides the infrastructure and technological assistance needed for 10,000 schools throughout the country.
In my opinion, schoolnet is very important to teachers and students because it creates an interactive learning environment which is so enjoyable and students have easy access to information and educational resources on the Internet. During my school life there was no system like this which is so interesting and so helpful, that is because students can learn about all subjects especially Science, History, Mathematics and English. Besides, and it also provide tutorial and exercises which can help students to achieve a good result in the examination.
In addition, SchoolNet also beneficial to teachers in teaching and learning model, action research, mastery learning, multiple intelligent, software tutorial, Implementation of ETeMS, Teaching courseware, Syllabus, English for Teaching Mathematics and Science (ETeMS) and so on.
Before end the class, Ms. Chin gave us assignment which to be done in group. the topic is how to promote the school computer lab? we have to present this assignment by next class (19th Feb 08)....our topic for this assignment is 'open day'...just wait and see ya!
What I Questionned?
1- how to encourage students in rural area to surf the internet especially schoolnet website??
2-what is the parents and society role to ensure that the schoolnet benefits to them?

1-Memberi ownership dan tanggungjawab sepenuh kepada sekolah dalam meningkatkan pencapaian sekolah
2-Melaksanakan porogram intervensi PPSMI
3-Membaiki kelemahan dalam aspek persediaan seperti latihan dan pembekalan bahan
Terdapat 7 strategi utama dan aktiviti-aktiviti tertentu untuk memastikan keberkesanan PPSMI:
Strategi 1- Menambahbaik p & p Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris
Strategi 2-Meningkatkan penguasaan BI guru
Strategi 3-Meningkatkan penguasaan B.I murid
Strategi 4- Mewujudkan suasana yang menggalakkan kelicinan PPSMI
Strategi 5-Peningkatan kefahaman konten S/M dalam kalangan murid
Strategi 6- Peningkatan motivasi guru dan murid terhadap PPSMI
Strategi 7- Pemantauan p & p di bilik darjah oleh pihak berkepentingan
Diantara aktiviti-aktiviti yang telah dilaksanakan oleh KPM ialah:
1. Ujian Diagnostik
- Tingkatan 1 – 4 dan Tahun 4
2. Buku Glosari Sains dan Matematik
3. Pemantauan kolaboratif PPSMI
4. Program Orientasi BI untuk Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik
5. Pelaksanaan Separa PPSMI di tahap 2 SK
6. Seminar p & p peringkat Negeri
7. Program BI selepas UPSR
8. Pakej Pembelajaran Kendiri BI untuk
Guru
9. Penyebaran maklumat kepada
pengetua
10. Guru S/M Tingkatan 3 dari sekolah berdekatan berjumpa sekali dalam 2 minggu di luar waktu sekolah
11. Aktiviti Micro-teaching/latihan amali penyampaian sesuatu tajuk S/M
12. Guru BI dijemput hadir dalam sesi yang memerlukan kepakaran BI
13. Merekodkan perjumpaan (aktiviti yang dijalankan)
